Museum of the Shifting Picture on Friday unveiled the winners of its second annual Marvels of Media Awards, which acknowledges the achievements of content material creators on the autism spectrum.
Winners embody Jorge R. Gutiérrez for the Netflix restricted collection Maya and the Three; filmmaker Devon Leaver for her experimental movie Galoot; Chloe Hayden for her performances within the Netflix collection Heartbreak Excessive and her viral social media video “A Day within the Lifetime of a Netflix Actor;” and Steven Fraser for his animated brief Coming Out Autistic.
The winners had been chosen by a panel of judges together with Cheryl Henson, president of the Jim Henson Basis; creator Louis Chesney; Carl Goodman, president and CEO of The Florida Holocaust Museum; actor Sue Ann Pien; and MoMI director of training Leonardo Santana-Zubieta.
The winners shall be honored at an awards ceremony and reception on the museum on March 30, which can kick off the annual Marvels of Media pageant and exhibition working by means of April 30.
“The second version of Marvels of Media furthers our dedication to enhancing the visibility of neurodiverse media creators within the audiovisual galaxy,” Santana-Zubieta stated. “The media works featured on this version radiate creativity and originality. They shine from totally different ages, backgrounds, and nations. For almost all of awardees and artists, that is their first expertise exhibiting their work in a museum setting. The exhibition and occasions will happen on the New York-based museum.
