JK Rowling has denied desiring to “upset anybody” together with her views on transgender rights. The Harry Potter creator was attacked by some activists when she questioned permitting trans girls in women-only areas.
Ms Rowling, 57, advised the podcast The Witch Trials Of JK Rowling that critics who declare her gender stance has “ruined” her legacy “couldn’t have misunderstood me extra profoundly”. She has repeatedly denied being transphobic.
However she added on the podcast: “I used to be not uncomfortable with getting off my pedestal.
“I don’t stroll round my home fascinated with my legacy. What a pompous solution to stay your life. I’ll be useless.
“I care about now. I care in regards to the dwelling.” The podcast is offered by Megan Phelps-Roper who fled life within the extremist Westboro Baptist Church within the US.
It tries to attract parallels between Christian fundamentalists who burned Potter books 20 years in the past for his or her “witchcraft”, and present opponents of Ms Rowling. She known as guide burning “the final resort of people that can not argue”.
